Ashurst advised a banking consortium led by Bayerische Landesbank on a corporate loan to Riemser Arzneimittel AG. The pharmaceuticals group intends to use the loan to acquire, amongst other things, various portfolios of intellectual property rights, in particular pharmaceutical products, trademarks, distribution rights, marketing authorisations and patent rights as well as licences.
Ashurst advised led by partner Dr Bernd Egbers. He was supported by associates Simon Stadtmann and Christiane Wilhelm as well as paralegal Susanne Kasnitz (all international finance/loan markets, Munich).
Bayerische Landesbank acted as bookrunner and agent as well as, together with Deutsche Bank AG Filiale Deutschland, als initial mandated lead arranger of the financing. Moreover, the banking consortium comprised Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A., Commerzbank AG, Nord/LB and HSH Nordbank AG.
