Allen & Overy LLP advised Masdar Group on the sale of its 11.7 megawatt solar park in Gotha, Thuringia, by Masdar PV GmbH to the investment fund CEE, based in Hamburg.
The solar park in Gotha is one of the largest thin-film solar photovoltaic parks in Thuringia. It was built by Masdar in 2011 on a former military property and has an installed capacity of 11.7 megawatt. The solar park consists of more than 50,000 thin-film solar panels, covering an area of about 40 football pitches. The annual yield of the park is 10.8 million kilowatt hours, which is enough to provide power for around 3,400 four-person households.
