Ashurst advised export credit agencies Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Korea Ex-Im Bank, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance and the commercial banks on the USD2.8 billion financing for the Donggi-Senoro LNG project in Indonesia, which signed on 14 November 2014.
The lenders included JBIC, KEXIM, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Korea Exchange Bank and NongHyup Bank.
The project is 59.9% owned by Sulawesi LNG Development, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Corporation and Kogas, 29% by Pertamina and 11.1% by Medco Energi Internasional.
The Ashurst team was led by Hong Kong based partner Matthias Schemuth and Tokyo based partner John McClenahan.
