International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Canadian-based BMO Financial Group in connection with its acquisition of independent investment manager Hong Kong-based Lloyd George Management (LGM).
LGM, a firm with approximately US$6 billion in assets under management, specialises in Asia and global emerging markets and has a local presence in Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Mumbai and Florida. The acquisition of LGM provides the scale for further expansion of BMO Asset Management and bolsters its portfolio management capabilities in Asian and emerging markets.
The cross-network team was led in London by partner Matthew Cosans, senior associate George Swan and associate Chetan Sheth (all corporate).
