AccorHotels Acquisition of Fairmont Raffles - AccorHotels announced this week its acquisition of FRHI Holdings, the company which owns the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel chains. AccorHotels paid for the acquisition by issuing 46.7m new shares and with EUR840m cash. Qatar Investment Authority and Kingdom Holdings will become shareholders of Accor, owning 10.5 per cent and 5.8 per cent respectively. The acquisition adds 155 hotels to the group including some of the most famous hotels in the world such as Raffles Singapore, The Savoy London and The Plaza Hotel New York.
